Walter Clark Capron Jr.

C.W.O. (Ret) Walter Clark Capron, Jr., 85 of Hopewell passed away on Tuesday January 5, 2016 surrounded by his devoted wife and daughters. He was preceded in death by his father, Captain (U.S.C. G. Ret) Walter C Capron; his mother Gertrude Booth Capron; and his sister Patricia Anne Capron. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, June Capron; daughters, Susan Capron Meador (David), Trudi Gail Capron, Candace Rainwater Irving; a sister, Marilyn Oliver; grandsons, Trey Rainwater (Jessica), Ryan Meador, Kyle Meador; a granddaughter, Ciera Irving Hios; nephew, Harry Walter Ward; and his beloved great-grandsons, Cullen Rainwater, and Bently Hios; many great nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. Walt enjoyed a long, distinguished Army career serving in the Korean and Vietnam War, and was our hero. The family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm on Saturday January 9, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Sunday January 10, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
