Walter Dewey Clarke

Walter Dewey Clarke, 89, a lifelong resident of Petersburg, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and enjoyed a career in insurance and real estate. He was also a member of Washington Street Methodist Church. Mr. Clarke was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia E. Moore Daniel. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eleanor Sherman Clarke; daughters, Cathy C. Roe, and Carol C. Hart and husband, Kirby; grandchildren, Melissa Jones and husband, Eugene, Brian Roe and wife, Melissa, Daniel Hart and wife, Angelica, and Jason Hart; seven great-grandchildren, and special friends, Charles and Regina Tyler.
