Walter Clay Denney, 71, a resident of Chester, VA, went to be with his Lord Saturday, June 16, 2018. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Sandra; children, Christopher (Dawna); Ryan (Amy); Kimberly (David); grandchildren, Samantha, Colin, Ty, Trevor, and Preston; a brother, Leroy; sisters, Eva, Shirley, Terie (Mark); special cousin, Barbara; special uncle, Frank “Cub” (Ava); special aunt, Dona;four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews; as well as many-many friends. Walter was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army. Walter was a Pipefitter and retired from Honeywell after more than 33 years of service. He was former Scout Leader of Troop 135 Robert E. Lee Council. Walter had special hobbies that included woodworking, and creating unique shadow boxes for his family and friends. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Colonial Heights where he enjoyed serving the Lord, and using his special talents with woodworking helping the church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3050 W.
