Walter Phillip Diacont

Walter Phillip Diacont "Phil", 85, of Disputanta, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025. Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late Linwood William Diacont and Helen Theresa Parker Diacont. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary White Diacont; his brothers, Pete Diacont, Bobby Diacont, and Charles Diacont; and his sister, Theresa Heath.

Mr. Diacont proudly served in the United States Army. He later worked for Houchins Pest Control and Wildwood Nursery & Garden Center, Inc., retiring after many years of dedicated service. In his later years, he resided at The Mitchell House in Spruce Pine, NC, where he enjoyed the company of many friends and the beauty of the mountain landscape.

He is survived by his son, William Douglas Diacont (Doug) and his beloved fiancée, Tina, whom he lovingly regarded as his daughter-in-law; his brother, Danny Diacont and his wife, Triena; as well as many other extended family members and dear friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Southlawn Memorial Park.
