Walter Thomas Moody

Moody, Walter Thomas "Pookie", 84, of Hopewell, VA, passed away while surrounded by his loving family on March 8, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Barbara C. Moody; son, Kirk R. Moody and wife, Charla; son, Mark D. Moody and wife, Tammy; siblings, Dwight Moody and Judy Brown; four grandchildren, Austin Moody (Kim), Zachary Moody, Landon Moody (Kylie), and Morgan Moody. He loved his grandchildren as well as his many nieces and nephews. Affectionately known as "Pookie" to friends and "Pops" to his grandchildren. He always had a servant's heart for family and friends. He had served as a deacon at Abundant Life Church and loved to share the love he has for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He retired after 40 years of working at a chemical plant in Chester, VA, as an instrumentation mechanic. His passions included fishing, reading about: sea battles, shipwrecks, and history. He loved watching Columbo and westerns, and listening to his favorite singer Nat "King" Cole. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, between the hours of 6-8 p.m., at Abundant Life Church, at 6500 Middle Rd, Prince George, VA 23875.
