Walter Thomas Cogbill, Sr., 86, of Matoaca died on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at his residence. He was the son of the late Thomas Azzie and Angie M. Wilson Cogbill. Walter worked for Southside Regional Medical Center for 34 years as a Maintenance Technician. He was also a long time member of the Wesly United Methodist Church and a life time member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife, Eunice Mayes Cogbill; son, Walter â??Tommyâ? Cogbill, Jr. and wife, Delores; grandsons, William â??Billyâ? Cogbill and wife, Jessica and Raymond T. Cogbill and wife, Lisa; great granddaughter, Amber Cogbill; great grandsons, Adam, Brent, and Zack Cogbill; stepdaughters, Debra Lane and husband, Mark, Sandra Davidson and husband, Roy, Connie Slate and husband, Carl, Barbara Griffin and husband, Larry and Peggy Perkinson and husband, Bennie; stepsons, Arthur L. Mayes, Jr. and wife Joyce and Bud Britt and wife, Toni. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Wesley United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the Church at 12 p.m. with Rev. Dale Gillis and Jimmy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
