Walter C. Tuma, Jr.

Walter C. Tuma, Jr., 76, of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born on June 27, 1948, he was the son of the late Walter C. Tuma, Sr. and Anna Lucille Hawkins Tuma. He was also preceded in death by his uncle, Joe Tuma; brother, Alvin Tuma; and grandson, Ryan Nicholas Russell.

Walter was a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County, Virginia, and spent his career as an operator at Philip Morris before he retired. He was passionate about his dogs, always making sure they were cared for even before himself. After his retirement, he lived his life to the fullest, and enjoyed things like playing cards and going fishing. He was a beloved father and grandfather.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Sandra Russell; grandchildren, Courtney Russell Wofford, Derrick Tinsley, Jacob Russell, and Christopher Russell; and stepchildren, April Shifflett, Shannon Barker, and Denise Pride.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter's honor to the animal shelter of your choosing.
