Wanda June Jones

June M. Jones, 87, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Born in Covington, VA, she was the daughter of the late Archie Thomas and Erma Bush Mundy; and was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Edmond R. "Bob" Jones; and one brother, Kenneth L. Mundy. Mrs. Jones was a long-time member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Jones is survived by her four children, Vickie Williams (Pete), Linda Hartman (Mike), Allen Jones, and Thomas Jones (Milana); nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Valeria Mundy. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W. Broadway Avenue, Hopewell, VA 23860. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Powers Memorial Baptist Church, 2807 Jackson St., Hopewell, VA 23860 in memory of June M. Jones.
