Wavie Nester

Wavie Ruth Nester, 92, of Hopewell, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. She took care of everyone in her neighborhood that needed help. Mrs. Nester was kind and friendly to everyone. If she could feed them, then she would cook for: our friends, neighbors, and even workers. She had a green thumb and kept a beautiful yard. Mrs. Nester worked in her yard everyday until January 2012. She was a great Mom and would do anything for her children, no matter where they were. Mrs. Nester is preceded in death by her husband, Aaron T. Nester; a son, Reford D. Nester; and her parents, George Robert and Myra Elizabeth Palmer Rogers. She is survived by her children, Shelby N. Marshall, Kenneth G. Nester and his wife, Audrey, Frances N. Smith, and Dean Thomas Nester; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, William and Barbara Harris. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the funeral home, with Pastor Eddie Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
