Wayne Eugene Griggs, Sr.

Wayne E. Griggs, Sr., 77, of Sutherland, VA, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
He was the son of the late, Jesse Gomer Griggs and Aldine Josey Griggs. Wayne grew up in Hopewell, VA, and made a career in transportation as an over the road truck driver. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving proudly from 1963 to 1965. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars, boating, and working on cars in his free time. Wayne is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ella Mae Griggs; son, Wayne E. Griggs, Jr. and wife, Oana; and son, Gordon Wayne Griggs. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Rd, North Dinwiddie, VA 23803.
