Wayne Hypes

Wayne Harding Hypes, 80, of Hopewell, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Mr. Hypes was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force; and retired from Fort Lee HVAC after twenty-five years of service. He was an avid fisherman and spent many days fishing at Lake Gaston. Mr. Hypes is preceded in death by his parents, Warren H. and Gladys May Kent Hypes; and three brothers, Pete, Jack, and Cam Hypes. He is survived by his son, Gerald W. Hypes (Patricia Miller); daughter, Cindy H. Elder and fiancé, Chris Anderson; grandchildren, Phyllis Ann Hypes, Phillip Christopher Hypes, and Gregory Cole Elder; numerous nieces and nephews; and a loving friend, Sandy Schaffer. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Bermuda Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ken Hendricks officiating.
