Wesley Herman Thompson

Wesley Herman Thompson, 83 of Hopewell, passed away on Thursday August 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mertie Jernigan Thompson; and his brother, Hubert Thompson. Wesley retired from Hercules after 40 plus years of service. He enjoyed fishing, and was a member of West Hopewell Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Annie Leavon Thompson; sister, Iris Davis and her husband, Jimmy; brothers, J. Carroll Thompson and his wife, Ella, Charles Thompson and his wife, Helen, Edward Thompson and his wife, Edith, Ronnie Thompson and his wife, Dee; sister in law, Johnnie Thompson; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm on Sunday August 21, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Monday August 22, 2016 in Appomattox Cemetery.
