Wiley Franklin Houser, 71, of Hopewell, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Hopewell and spent most of his life in the tri-city area. Wiley was preceded in death by his parents Henry J. and Mary Lee Thrift Houser, a son, Todd W. Houser and a brother, Kenneth E. Houser. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and was a retired postal clerk for the United States Postal System with 44 years of service. Wiley is survived by his wife, Connie Gertrude Houser of Hopewell, a son, Chad F. Houser and his wife Libertad, of Crewe, VA, a daughter, Lucy Houser McKenna and her husband, Shawn of Lititz, PA, two grandchildren, Henry Todd Houser and Elizabeth Rose McKenna, a brother, Dr. Thomas H. Houser of New Holland, PA, and a special friend, Michael Robbins. The family will receive friends Monday, July 12, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Michael Browder, pastor, officiating.
