Wiley Eben Radcliff, Sr., 87, of Hopewell died Friday, September 5, 2008 in Riverview on the Appomattox Nursing Home. He was born in Beaufort County, NC and had been a long time resident of Hopewell. Mr. Radcliff served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was a retired building inspector for Central State Hospital and worked as a carpenter for the union in Hopewell . He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Joseph and Irene Williams Radcliff, his wife Marguerite Dale Radcliff, a son, Richard Radcliff and a great granddaughter, Morgan F. Griffin. Mr. Radcliff is survived by two daughters, Joan R. Lambert and her husband Charles of Hopewell, Barbara R. Levine and her husband Ray of Chester, a son, Wiley E. Radcliff, Jr. and his wife Ellen of Hopewell, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a brother Henry â??Scooterâ? Webb of Hopewell. The family will receive friends, Monday, September 8, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Wayne Rickman, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating.
