William Goode Beville

William Goode Beville, 96, a lifelong resident of Petersburg, VA, died Monday, February 26, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mae Pearl Clarke Beville, and his sister, Charlotte Beville Hale. Mr. Beville was a WWII Navy veteran and was very passionate about history and the preservation of Virginia’s many treasures. He served on the board of directors for the following: Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Epps Society – Merchants Hope Church, Bacon’s Castle, Preservation of Virginia, Virginia Historical Society, and Farmers’ Bank. He served as Assistant Treasurer of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for 30 years, and was a very generous contributor to Christ & Grace Episcopal Church. On behalf of Mr. Beville, we would like to thank all of the ladies that cared for him so beautifully and made every day a “bright spot” in his life. Billy was a joy to all who knew him and a gracious “Virginia Gentleman.” A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Blandford Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Christ & Grace Episcopal Church.
