William "Buck" John Horning Jr.

William "Buck" John Horning, Jr, 85, of S. Prince George, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Horning Sr. and Ruby Miles Horning; and wife, Lorraine Henshaw Horning. William was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War. He worked many years as a general contractor and developer and he enjoyed spending his time fishing and doing mechanic work. He is survived by his son, William J. Horning, III (Donna); three grandchildren, Sarah, Ashley and Dana; and five great-grandchildren, David, Hayley, Kelsey, Taylor and Claire. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
