William Bellinger Butler Sr.

William Bellinger Butler, Sr., 93, of Henrico, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Rush and Louise Bellinger Butler. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margaret M. Butler. Mr. Butler worked for RF&P Rail Road. He first worked with steam engines and later advanced to diesel. He was a proud machinist and retired from his craft in 1974. Mr. Butler is survived by his son, William B. Butler, Jr. (Debra); two daughters, Anne B. Phillips (Billy) and Kathleen B. Farmer (Grady); four grandchildren, William Russell Butler, James S. Butler (Tammy), G. Jay Farmer, IV., and Anna M. Fox (James); twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Rousch. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 29, 2013 and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
