William Edward Daniel, Jr. 88, of Prince George, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016. Born in Waverly, VA, he was the son of the late William E. Daniel, Sr. and Nellie Rosella Weaver Daniel. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Maria L. Daniel; two sisters and a brother. William was known for his precision marksmanship with the Marine Corps retiring after 21 years of service. Afterwards, he went on to work for the Federal Correctional Institution retiring after 20 years of service. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors gardening and cooking. He is survived by four children, James E. Daniel (Linda), John R. Daniel (Debbie), Jane D. Turner, and June D. Winn (Mike); six grandchildren, Jason Daniel, Rachel Turner, Jessica Vlkojan, Michael Winn, Amy Ruddick, and Jenny Burrow; six great-grandchildren; sister, Marie McEnerny; and special brother-in-law and neighbor, Clarence “Cutter” Clements. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers who stood by “Mr. D’s” side at home and to the staff at Crater Community Hospice. A funeral entombment with military honors will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Southlawn Memorial Park.
