William John Devine

William “Bill” John DeVine, 89, of Hopewell, VA passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Rose DeVine; his loving wife, Irma DeVine; daughter, Zona Miller; sister, Flo Chmielewski; granddaughter, Jenny Wittmeyer; and grandson, Timothy A. DeVine. He is survived by his son, William DeVine (Carol); daughter, Diane Wittmeyer; son, Thomas DeVine (Cindy); son, Timothy DeVine; son, Michael DeVine (Brenda); son, Patrick DeVine (Gail); son, Harry DeVine; sixteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Rose Keifrider; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Mr. DeVine was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving with the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment 82nd Airborne Division. He was also a member of the Eagles Club 882. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W. Broadway., Hopewell, VA 23860. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the chapel. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
