William R. "Bill" Elliott, Jr.

William R. “Bill” Elliott, Jr., passed away on August 17, 2017. He was born on December 4, 1940, in Hopewell, VA, the only son of the late W. Rupert and Helen Burnett Elliott. Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife, Charlene Marcella “Marcie”; four sons, Michael J. Elliott, Steven D. Elliott, William R. Elliott, III and wife, Jennifer and Kevin B. Elliott and wife, Shelley; four grandchildren, Matthew, Meaghan, Berkeley and Hunter; three sisters, Judy Burl, Kathryn Judson and husband, Tamas and Jane Cashion and husband, Michael; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, 1201 Blackstone Ave., Hopewell, VA 23860. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, 1201 Blackstone Ave., Hopewell, VA 23860 or to First United Methodist Church, 502 W. Broadway Ave., Hopewell, VA 23860 in memory of Mr. Elliott. A celebration of Bill’s life will be announced at a later date and will be held at Carr Brothers, 3100 Jackson Farm Road, Hopewell, VA.
