William Robert Floyd, Sr. of Chester passed away on February 6, 2013. He was born on July 23, 1929 in Decatur, GA and grew up in Athens, GA. Bob was a retired Presbyterian minister and Army chaplain, who spent 50 years serving churches, Army chapels and soldiers in Korea, France, Vietnam, and numerous states. He is survived by his wife, Jean Floyd; sister, Dorothy Edwards; children, Bill, Jr, and Bart Floyd, Patti Brown, Laura Deck; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was dedicated to God, country, and his family. During his years on earth he helped and touched many lives. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Chester Presbyterian Church, 3424 West Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23831. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
