William "Bill" Frederick Hexamer, 68, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. Hexamer and Elsie Patterson; his brothers, Jimmy Gilland and Mike Gilland; and his sister, Londa Krepps.
Bill was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Dinwiddie and also owned and operated the Antique Junction, an antique store in Disputanta for many years. He would also sell vegetables out of a vegetable stand that he operated on the side of his antique shop, and he was very successful in doing so. Bill was proud to own 1964 white Chevy panel truck, which he drove to truck pulls and mud bogs throughout the state and sold Dixie outfitter apparel out of. In his spare time, he enjoyed metal detecting, fishing, and sitting outside on his porch. Bill also loved to ride his motorcycle. His family was important to him, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Bill is survived by his son, Buddy Hexamer (Kristina); grandchildren, McKenzie (James) and Jaemie; great-grandchild, Bellamy; brothers, Louis Pate, Randy Gilland, and Darryl Gilland; and his aunt, Margie, who helped to raise him. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Bonnie, Janine, and Laura for their help in caring for Bill.
