William Nathan Hicks, Sr., 80, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2009. Born on May 13, 1929 in Hancock County, TN, he was the son of the late James and Mary Osborne Hicks and was the husband of the late Marian Pearl Holt Hicks.
He is also survived by two daughters, Phyllis Diane Sarutzki (John Blades) of Virginia Beach, Donna Marriner (Dwight) of Cary, NC; two sons, William Nathan Hicks, Jr.(Mary Ellen) of Wake Forest, NC, Robert Gene Hicks (Bonnie) of Montpelier; eleven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 2:00PM at the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield. Burial will follow in the Waverly Cemetery in Waverly. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8PM. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
