William Maxwell

William R. Maxwell, 87, of Chester, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. He was the son of the late Raymond L. and Frances G. Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Adele Goyne Maxwell. He was a longtime member of Chester United Methodist Church and served his country during WWII in the U. S. Army. Mr. Maxwell was a former Manager of Goyne Chevrolet for many years, and a past Lionâ??s Club member. He also was an avid golfer from the age of 3. He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn A. Maxwell of Chester, Janet M. Carowan and husband, Art, of Avon, IN; granddaughter, Stephanie Carowan of Springfield, VA; grandson, Ben Carowan of Ft. Wayne, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the Chester Chapel of J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 15th at 11 a.m., at Chester United Methodist Church, Chester, with interment following in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
