William Creed Mccallister, Jr.

William (“Bill” or “Mac”) Creed McCallister, Jr., 77, of Prince George County, Virginia, passed away on November 5, 2018 with family at his side. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, he was preceded in death by his parents William Creed McCallister and Phyllis Fowler McCallister. He was also preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life, Helen Shearin McCallister. They are all reunited now in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a loyal and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as an avid sports fan and fisherman. He served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1969 as a Chaplain’s Assistant and was a retired Commercial Flooring Contractor. He is survived by his brother, Toby A. McCallister (Linda), of Bradenton, Florida; a nephew, Ryan McCallister of Charleston, West Virginia; a niece, Sara McCallister Hedrick of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; a brother-in-law and best-friend, Jesse M. Shearin of Dinwiddie, Virginia; a son, Michael W. Hamlet of Chesterfield, Virginia, a daughter, Rebecca Hamlet Weaver of Hopewell, Virginia; a daughter Teresa Hamlet Lawton (Donald) of Chesterfield, Virginia; grandchildren, Bryan P. Hamlet (Nora), Erin Hamlet Cain (Aaron), Crystal Weaver Wells (Brian), Paul S. Weaver (April), Kathryn E. Lawton, and Matthew R. Lawton; and Great Grandchildren, Garrick L. Wells, Vivian C. Hamlet, and Micah P. Hamlet. Donations in William’s name to Prince George Fire and EMS, PO Box 68, Prince George, VA 23875 are welcome and appreciated. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 3:00-4:00pm at Calvary’s Love Ministries Church, 118 S. 11th Avenue, Hopewell, Virginia 23860. Immediately following the visitation there will be a memorial service and a celebration of William’s life at the same location. Pastor Rocky Shearin is officiating the service. J.T.
