William Mcdaniel

William Arthur McDaniel, 83, of Hopewell, died Friday, July 30, 2010. Born in Bloomington, MO, he was the son of the late John William Arthur and Mary Belle Burton McDaniel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Clarke. Mr. McDaniel served in the U. S. Army for over twenty years. Following his military service, he worked in a Civil Service position at Fort Lee until his retirement. His hobbies included fishing, attending flea markets, and cars. Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon McDaniel of Hopewell; daughters, Wanda Kay Shea (David) of Petersburg and Denise Moore (Donnie) of Chester; sons, Gordon McDaniel (Sandy) of Bumpass, VA and Greg McDaniel (Joyce) of Hopewell; grandchildren, Justin McDaniel, Megan McDaniel, Zane Moore, and Mitchell Moore; several nieces and nephews of Missouri. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3rd, at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Pastor Rod Hale and Dr. Robert Breckenridge, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
