William Henry McKaig, Jr.

William Henry McKaig, Jr., 79, of Hopewell, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. McKaig, Sr. and Mary Jane McKaig; as well as, his stepdaughter, Jessie Marie Edwards. William served in the Army Reserves for 35 years and was on the shooting team prior to his retirement. He was a retired machinist and a member of several organizations, including the American Legion Post 146, West End Presbyterian Church, and a lifetime member of the NRA and the VA Shooting Sports Association.

William is survived by his wife, Catherine McKaig; daughters, Janet Pollock and Tracey McKaig; stepson, Doug Edwards (Christina); grandchildren, Tiffany Walton (Mike) and Jennifer Courtney, who William helped raise from a young age, along with Morgan Pollock, Cameron Pollock, Sadie Edwards, and Savannah Edwards; great-grandson, Malachi Courtney; brother, Robert McKaig (Rene); and best friend, Fred Seitz.

A funeral service will be held at West End Presbyterian Church, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at 1 PM.
