William Robert "Bobby" Moore

William Robert "Bobby" Moore, 79, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on March 31, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. Bobby was born on August 1, 1942 in Petersburg, VA, and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Wenda Garriss Moore; parents, Doris and William Moore; and sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Danny Shaffer. Bobby graduated from Petersburg High School in 1962, and lived with his family in Colonial Heights, VA. He was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church and also attended Beacon Hill Church in Hopewell, VA. Bobby retired from Imaging Solutions (formerly Plumber Printing) as a Print Supervisor after almost 50 years and had worked in circulation part-time at the Progress-Index newspaper. Bobby served as a Past President of the Local Fraternal Order of Eagles #882 in 1974 and served as the Past State Worthy President of the F.O.E in 1982. Over the years, Bobby has enjoyed coaching many Little League Baseball teams and has continued his love of sports throughout his life. Bobby loved his family and was fiercely loyal to them and his friends. His laugh was contagious, and his larger-than-life presence will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his two sons, Richard Moore (Jessy) of Colonial Heights, VA, and Pastor Michael Moore (Kim) of Chester, VA; grandchildren, Caleb, Nathan, Kelsey and Zoey, Catherine Brandeberry, Richard Moore, Jr., Katie Cominsky (Alex), and Rachel Moore; niece, Pamela Hines (Dean); nephew, Keith Lewis (Amy); great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of others he considered family. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am and will be followed by the service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Moore of Beacon Hill Church and Dr. Stephen Felker officiating. Interment will follow in the historic Blandford Cemetery.
