William Thomas Moore

William Thomas Moore “Winkie”, 57, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Keimer Moore; and son, Cameron Moore. William was a past member of the Petersburg Mormon Church and the Huntington Court Methodist Church in Roanoke. He also was a member of the Richmond Dive Club and the Civitian Club. William worked at Honeywell for 35 years. William loved nature and the outdoors. His love for his fellow man, made him special to so many people. He was a very selfless person and he went above and beyond to help many people. Opening his arms to many, he was known for his big heart. He touched so many lives with his generous spirit. William is so loved and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son, Thomas Stirling Moore of S. Prince George; mother, Sandra Lee Moore of Mint Hill, NC; sister, Lisa Moore Snider of Blacksburg; brother, Joel Todd Moore and wife, Judithann of Mint Hill, NC; and several nieces and nephews. The family of William would like to give a special thank you to William’s best friend, Frances; buddies, Dallas, Dale, Ken and Mike; Rebecca and Jimmy Bogese; and Eva and Leander Scott. A memorial service will be held at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery.
