William Munford

William Hardy Munford, 76, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, formerly of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007. Born in Windsor, VA, he was the son of the late Matthew and Susie Comes Munford. He was a U. S. Navy veteran serving aboard the U.S.S. F.D. Roosevelt and was a retired employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. Mr. Munford was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. His family includes his daughters, Wanda Munford Hudson (Tom) of Prince George, Sherry Munford Geers (Philippe) of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Bonnie Munford Wall (the late Nick Wall) also of Kill Devil Hills, and Nancy Munford Jimison (Al) of Hopewell; grandchildren, Kathryn Hudson (deceased), Amanda Taylor (Mike), Tommy Hudson, India Muret, Jason Wall, Mark Jimison, and Erin Jimison; great-grandchildren, Brock and Kylee Taylor; and three sisters, Betty Lou Hicks, Lelia LeMaster and Jean Atkins. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, April 18, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Garden, Prince George.
