William Norris

William Bentley “Monk” Norris, 78, of Berry Street died Monday, March 22, 2004 at his residence. He was born in Ayden, NC and had been a resident of Hopewell for more than 50 years. Mr. Norris was a retired oiler from Honeywell, Inc.. He was the son of the late Joe and Sallie Tripp Norris. Mr. Norris is survived by his wife, Iva Wade Norris of Hopewell, two daughters, Sallie Norris Lewis of Prince George, Melody Norris Bennett of Hopewell, one son, Paul Bentley Norris, 4 grandchildren, Steven and Alisha Bennett, Nick and Jesse Norris, one brother, Robert A. Norris, all of Hopewell and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 25, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:30PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, March 26, 2004 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mural Worthy pastor of Hopewell Church of Christ and Rev. William Harper, former pastor of Hopewell Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
