With great sadness, the family of William "Bill" Palmer III announces that he went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2017. Bill was born on January 29, 1947 in Prince George, Virginia. He is survived in love by his wife, Janet Chandler Palmer; and two daughters, Kristine P. Jackson and husband, David and Dana N. Palmer and partner, Stephanie; step-children, Christopher Heekin and Andrea Heekin; granddaughter, Lily Grace Jackson; a sister, Dolores P. Browder and husband, Bernard A. Browder; nephews and the rest of his family and friends. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William E. Palmer Jr. and Doris R. Palmer. Bill graduated from Hopewell High School and served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970. He then retired from Allied Chemical in 2000. From there he worked for the Federal Government as a purchaser for the Department of Defense and retired in 2017. Bill loved boating, skiing and fishing. He was loved by many and will never be forgotten. A memorial service will be held at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be sent to the American Cancer Society in memory of Bill.
