William Walbeck

William Straughn Walbeck, age 89, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2007. He was born in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Howard Otis and Bertha Straughn Walbeck. Mr. Walbeck was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving actively in WWII and was a recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He worked approximately 35 years in the insurance industry. After retiring he was very active in the Kiwanis of Seven Lakes, NC. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Louise Walbeck; daughter, Anita L. Edmunds and husband, Wayne of Chester, VA; son, Philip S. Walbeck and wife, Janet of Dallas, TX; four grandchildren, Christopher Edmunds, Patrick Edmunds, Amy Walbeck, and William Cody Walbeck; two sisters, Virginia Safranek of Baltimore, MD and Irene Johnson of Elkridge, MD. A graveside memorial in his honor will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being conducted through the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T.
