Willie H. Massey, Jr.

Willie Harvey Massey, Jr., 82 of Petersburg, VA, died May 12, 2023. Born and raised in Petersburg, VA he was the son of the late William Harvey Massey and Odelia Massey. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Mary Virginia Massey; daughter, Jo Anne Massey-Rice and her husband, Ed; daughter Susan Michelle Talbott and her husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Jonathan David Wilcox and his wife Tess; Layne Connor Talbott; great-grandchildren, Scarlett Mae, Elijah, Sophia, Ethan; a sister Betty Sue Massey, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Willie was a Retired Petersburg Firefighter with 15 years of service. He was also in the United States Army for 3 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, photography, watching NASCAR racing and football. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, 11302 Merchants Hope Road Prince George, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mike Goff Memorial Scholarship Fund, 8206 Siding Dr., Church Road, VA 23833.
