Willie Franklin Pinkleton, 89, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022. Born in Matoaca, VA, he was the son of the late Willie Royal "Pete" Pinkleton and Lily Kate Osborne. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Pinkleton.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Frances Williamson Pinkleton; children, Randy Pinkleton, Rick Pinkleton (Penny), and Susan Humphries (Wesley); grandchildren, Chris Pinkleton (Kirstin), Jaci Pinkleton, Luke Humphries (Haley), Alex Pinkleton, Jonathan Humphries, and Hannah Humphries; great-grandchildren, Elias Humphries and Benji Humphries; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Nichols.
Willie was a graduate of Petersburg High School. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and retired as 1st Lieutenant. Willie worked for American Tobacco as an engineer, retiring after many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and tending to his garden. He was a member of Rocky Run Hunt Club, the NRA, and the Dinwiddie Diamonds. Most of all, family was his greatest passion. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church, 6030 Woodpecker Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23838. Interment will be private.
