Wilma Eldridge Lum of Petersburg died Thursday, December 08, 2005 in Colonial Heights Convalescent Center following an extended illness. Miss Lum was born in Petersburg, daughter of the late William E. Lum, Jr. and Eunice Mabel Inge Lum. She was a graduate of Petersburg High School and Westhampton College. She was a life long member of First Baptist Church of Petersburg (W. Washington St) where she was a choir member, soloist and director of the Childrens Choir for many years. She was also a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and the Hannah Barlow Circle. Professionally, she was the manager of William E. Lum, Jr., lnc. for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dr. Natalie I. Lum and two brothers, Benjamin E. Lum and Howard M. Lum. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Jean Lum (Mrs. Ben E. Lum) of Petersburg, two nieces, Susan Ellen Lum LoPresti of Smithfield, VA, Margaret Lum Watson of Richmond, a nephew, William Eldridge Lum, III of Roseville, CA and their families. A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 am Monday, December 12, 2005 at First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 am in the church parlor. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to First Baptist Church. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
