Woodrow "Dana" Ethridge, 73, of Prince George County, passed away at VCU Medical Center on March 17, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Petersburg, VA, and the son of the late Doris H. Bragg and Woodrow W. Ethridge. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley E. Lundie; and brother, David Ray Ethridge. Dana retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FCC Petersburg).
He was an avid hunter and founder of Wildwood Hunt Club in Prince George County. Dana loved NASCAR racing. He raced limited model stock cars at Southside Speedway many years ago. He loved to fish and do anything outdoors. He is survived by his loving sisters, Helen Merritt (Robert K, Jr.) and Annette Bailey (Wayne); nephews, Rob Merritt (Tiffany), Mike Merritt, and Scott Bailey (Jordan); nieces, Sheila Cross (Harvey) and Tiffany Compton (Tom); great-nephews, Brendon Merritt (Kayli), Beau Bailey, and Theo Compton; and great-nieces, Ashley Allen (Cain) and Tate Compton; a very dear and devoted friend, William H. Campbell, Jr.; and his beloved dog, Shadow.

The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Blandford Cemetery.
