Woodrow Watt Perkinson, 95, of Petersburg, passed away on August 9, 2013. He was the son of the late Daniel Beauregard and Annie Belle Rudy Perkinson; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise T. Perkinson; a sister, Aurelia Best; two brothers, Robert Perkinson and David Perkinson, Sr; and a good friend, Percy Adkins. Mr. Perkinson was the owner and operator of Perkinson’s Garage for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Betsy P. Wood; five sisters, Bettie P. Shelton and husband, Bubba, Bernice Schenck, Mary Chalkley, Shirley Cimburke and husband, Junie, and Jean Joyner and husband, Henry; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special cousins, Jimmy Murphy and Barry Hopkins. The family would like to thank his special friends, Jerry Moody, Steve Nelson, Gerald Brown, Parker and Bragg Simmons for all of their care and love. Also a special thanks to his care givers, Snookie, Sandy W., Angie, Helen, Tammy, Sandy K., Marie and Lisa. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Wood’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Joseph T. Carson, III, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home.
