Wynelle Williams Dudley Sawyer, age 87, died peacefully in hospice care at Skyline Manor Retirement Community in Omaha, NE on December 19, 2011. She was born in Petersburg on September 19, 1924 to Kenneth and Ruth Gibbs Williams. She was the widow of Raymond Vincent Dudley of Hopewell and Charles Carroll Sawyer of Elizabeth City, NC. For many years she was an active member of the Petersburg Federated Womanâ??s Club, the Edenmont Garden Club and an outstanding volunteer for the American Red Cross, Southside Chapter. She was a lifelong member of Washington Street UMC. She is survived by her daughter, Wynelle â??Pennyâ? Dudley Sampson and her husband Richard of Omaha and Knoxville, TN as well as her grandsons Chip (Chris) Keim of Knoxville and Rodney (Alisha) Keim of Littleton, CO, five great grandchildren and a brother, Mitchell Williams of Richmond. Visitation with Penny will be Wednesday, December 28th from 12-3pm at JT Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg Chapel with services to follow immediately at 3pm. Private burial will take place at Blandford Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Skyline Foundation ( 501 c3) @ 7300 Graceland Drive, Omaha, NE 68134 to assist seniors who have outlived their resources or to the Red Cross.
