Yon I. Calhoun

Yon I. Calhoun, 72, of Chester, VA, died on October 16, 2023. Born and raised in Guchang-goon Baek Hak Dong, South Korea, she was the daughter of the late Sung Tae Lee and Oak Yi Shin. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Richard L. Calhoun. She is survived by her daughter, Young Ae Kim and husband, Andrew S. Kim; two grandchildren, Allison Kim and Anderson Kim; son, Isaac Calhoun; three grandchildren, Cyrus Calhoun, Akaylah Calhoun, and Damon Calhoun; sisters, Sun Hee Lee, Sook Hee Lee; brother, Jong Seung Lee and wife, Cho Wha Park; and the youngest sister, Soon Yi Park and husband, Kyung suk Park; and their son, Jun Young Kim.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 11 am, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with a visitation to follow from 12 pm - 2 pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 1 pm, at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
